A city councillor is the voice of residents at City Hall. Their role is to listen to the community, understand local concerns, and help make decisions that shape the future of the city.
In Ontario, councillors are responsible for representing the public, reviewing policies, voting on budgets, deciding service priorities, and helping ensure the city operates with transparency, accountability, and financial responsibility.
A councillor does not run the day-to-day operations of the city, but they play an important role in asking questions, bringing forward community concerns, supporting practical solutions, and holding City Hall accountable.
For Ward 9, this means being a strong bridge between residents and municipal government, making sure people feel heard, informed, and properly represented when decisions are made about taxes, roads, infrastructure, housing, parks, public safety, city services, and the future of our community.
